    ARCHITECT & DIRECTOR

Hi, I'm David, an Architect and the founder of Jackson-Crane Architecture. Raised on the outskirts of Sheffield, where architectural influence was scarce, my early exposure to design was limited. However, my childhood penchant for drawing and building with Lego (cliche alert!) laid the groundwork for my future in architecture. It wasn't until college, where I encountered an architecture module as part of my Construction course, that my passion was ignited.

I pursued Architecture at Sheffield Hallam University in 2006, where a transformative moment during an Architectural Theory lecture introduced me to the modernist movement. The lecturer's captivating slides showcasing iconic works like the Villa Savoye and Falling Water sparked a profound interest within me, setting me on a path of exploration and discovery.

Despite the challenges of a recession, I persevered, securing my first architectural assistant role in Nottingham while balancing part-time work and studies. Completing my education at the University of Birmingham in 2014, I gained valuable experience in various private practices across Derby and Nottingham, ultimately finding my calling in residential and domestic projects.

Driven by a passion for personal connection and client collaboration, I thrive on helping clients solve problems and enhance their lifestyles through thoughtful design. While my work is rooted in modernism, I prioritise understanding your vision and needs, ensuring a tailored approach that reflects your personality and preferences.

Now based in a quaint South Nottinghamshire village near our design studio, I enjoy the central location, facilitating seamless collaboration on projects spanning from Cambridgeshire to Lancashire and beyond. Living here with my wife and young children, I find inspiration in the tranquil surroundings as I continue to craft unique, bespoke homes that resonate with each client's essence and aspirations.
