Interview with the French Interior Designer Agathe Lepoutre

I know holidays should be about rest and relaxation (which mine was) but they can also be an opportunity for inspiration. Whilst on holiday in Brittany, I had the chance to meet Agathe Lepoutre, who is a talented French Interior Designer, at her beautiful home.

She gave me a private tour and I was not disappointed. Situated on the shoreline, the building blends in perfectly to the seaside landscape. The house is divided in two, with the original building for her children, and the modern extension for herself and husband. The cladded black timber of the extension creates a harmonious contrast with the original house.

The difference between the outside and the inside struck me. Black slatted timber covers the outside whilst the interior is bright with beautiful natural tones. Another striking feature of the home is the polished screed used for the floor of the extension - the result is fantastic. There are many great features to this wonderful home and I do not wish to bore you with my descriptions.  The pictures will do a much better job – enjoy!

Thank you to Agathe for the chance to see the house and the inspiration it provided!
